Grow & Learn

Challenging ourselves to grow through study and discussion with others on the faith journey is a rewarding experience.  As we glean truths from Scripture/Bible passages and grapple with how these might apply to modern living our experience of worship will be enhanced and our willingness to engage in bringing justice and mercy to the world around us through service will strengthen.

Adults gather in the Lakeview Room in the Annex (north of the Sanctuary building) at 11:15 am for a topical discussion related to the morning sermon theme from worship. Related books both secular and sacred are used as source material and discussion starters. There are no prerequisites. No matter where you find yourself on the faith journey, whether at the beginning or far along, all seekers will benefit from this open-minded, questioning atmosphere where grappling with ideas is more important than finding answers or solving problems.

Children ages 5-12 gather in the Annex classrooms (north of the Sanctuary building) at 11:15 am. Utilizing different storytelling techniques, the children enjoy the day's Bible story then engage the theme of the story with art projects and discussion to make it relevant to their daily lives. Using Seasons of the Spirit curriculum, the Bible story is often the same as that used during worship helping to reinforce the theme for the day.
